“Being an artist is the bravest thing someone can do.”
Break Management is the organic result of a comprehensive understanding of entertainment. Founder and CEO Aida Angotti builds on a life’s experience that spans the broad range of break dancing, film, hair & makeup, advertising, acting, and production. In everything she’s done, she has set a high bar of expectation: “Give everything 100%.”
Growing up in New York, Germany, Texas, California, and the spaces in between, Aida became fascinated with the wild and fruitful artistic world. Starting as a dancer in her teens, she first laid out her cardboard in Washington Square Park and performed as a break dancer; the memory from which Break Management takes its name. From there, the natural progression of exploring all sides of what it takes to build an artist as a brand began.
From dancing in videos to a career in acting, the knowledge set required to build an artist as a fully formed brand was learned. “I had many agents and I learned first hand what it means to be an artist. I also learned what an agent needs to be.” After acting, the final pieces of the puzzle were fit into place as she acquired experience in production, aesthetics, and marketing.
But, in seeing all levels of the artistic process, a need was recognized: “A lot of things weren’t being produced that needed to be out there.” Break Management was founded in 2010 with the vision of helping artists do more than just practice their craft, but to help artists build an authentic brand around their art. “Being an agent is about containing your life so you can build your art.” It’s this commitment along with a complete understanding of how to negotiate and navigate the industry that sets Break apart.
